Sub-Projects – Theme 2 – Labour markets

“Working in Networks (WIN)” - Knowledge and Technology Transfer in Cross Border Life Science Regions

General description of the project

Life Science is an interdisciplinary and growing sector of the European Economy where specialists of different sectors e.g. biotechnology, medicine, or pharmacy work together to develop products and services in the field of health-care and human well-being. Several regions are fostering the cooperation of different stakeholders of that sector in so called "Bio-Regions or Bio-clusters". First attempts have been made to set up cross-border initiatives in the field of Life Science to support the creation of expert networks across borders. However, border regions are facing similar challenges in this context: differences in cultures, languages and regulatory frameworks are examples of questions the four partner regions have to deal with.

Therefore the partnership aims to create a network of cross-border operating Life Science regions which will jointly elaborate current and new practices of cross-border Life Science projects that should lead to more efficient cooperation and working methods. Furthermore, the sub-project seeks to facilitate the networking within and between the border regions und foster the development of Life Science labour markets in border regions. This new network will be combined with existing networks of Life Science regions to boost a further exchange of knowledge and expertise between relevant stakeholders of this sector and explore synergies.
