Activities

Several activities take place within “Change on Borders”:

SWG activities

First of all, there are the sub-projects, SWGs, where a limited number of partners work together and exchange experiences on specific cross-border questions. The RFO Steering Committee has already approved several SWGs (more).

Thematic Forum activities

In addition to the exchange of experiences within SWGs, three Thematic Forums provide the opportunity for strategic cooperation among all the Main Partners (more).

Each Thematic Forum has defined core issues on which its work is focused:

  • Thematic Forum 1: Integrated and environment friendly development of border regions
  • Thematic Forum 2: Development of labour markets in border regions
  • Thematic Forum 3: Promotion of socio-cultural integration between border regions

For every Thematic Forum a Lead Region has been nominated which is responsible for the ongoing work process. The Lead Regions support the responsible Main Partner region with the organisation of Thematic Forum meetings. In this context, they help setting up the agenda, they moderate workshops and support the organising region with the documentation of the meeting.

Annual Conferences

In total four Annual Conference will be realised in order to spread the RFO-achievements throughout Europe (more).

Workshops and technical assistance events

“Change on Borders” offers several workshops and technical assistance events. Their aim is to support the different groups being active within the RFO.

The target group for the related workshops will be informed about scheduled seminars at an early stage by the RFO Coordination Unit (more).

Publicity

One important duty of the RFO “Change on Borders” is the communication of its activities (see INTERREG IIIC guidelines). This is necessary to ensure, that best-practice examples, activities and results will be spread among Europe in order to motivate other regions to undertake similar actions. Furthermore it is important to ensure transparency in the use of public funds and especially the public should be informed, for which activities EU funds are used. This is the reason, why a clear indication of the European Union‘s participation must be visible on every publication in the context of “Change on Borders” (more).
